Costa Brava footpath (9h)
These footpaths were unified after the Spanish War to control the coast and to stop smuggling. The paths go along beaches and cliffs in part of the water. Following them permits us to enjoy the views of the Costa Brava and to step on the small bays that we will discover on our way (the path has been adapted and it is easy to do – 30 minutes).
Following it we will arrive to Calella de Palafrugell, one of the nicest old fisherman village of the Catalane Coast. Famous for the Habanera Festival celebrated here every year.
Our next step is to go up by car to reach the Sant Sebastià Lighthouse (on a cliff 555 feet over the see level). The sanctuary and the watchtower allow magnificent views over the coast.
After lunch, we will visit Begur, to see the houses of the Indianos (wealthy returned emigrants) and we will learn their story. On the top of Begur is the Castle to make out the Illes Medes.
